The construction of the Beijing Daxing International Airport was successfully completed and is expected to be opened on or before September 30, 2019.  The self-levelling screeds of OPTIMIX Group were adopted in the construction of the car park at Beijing Daxing International Airport.  The OPTIMIX SF878 Self-Levelling Screed (Heavy Duty) and OPTIMIX SF80 Primer were used in the 3-storey car park with a construction area of 60,000 square meters, providing a smooth, safe and solid surface for the travellers.

Seven Wonders of the Modern World

After more than four years of construction, Beijing Daxing International Airport, selected as one of the "Seven Wonders of the Modern World" by The Guardian, is set to begin operations on 30 September.  It is the world's largest single-terminal airport.  The new airport is expected to handle 100 million passengers and accommodate 880,000 flights per year, surpassing Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the US to become the world’s busiest by passenger traffic. The gigantic airport will also play a key role in the Belt and Road Initiative and further boost the economic development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The terminal building was designed by the world-famous Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) and the French planner ADP Ingenierie (ADPI).  The design celebrates the connectivity and dynamism of air travel, expressed as a sequence of inspirational inter-connected public spaces.  The flowing roof lines cover the large, column-free spaces and provide a sense of scale and orientation, welcoming the world to Beijing.

The First AI Robotic Parking System Among the China Airports

There are many intelligent features in the new airport. Among all, an automated parking system with two robots will serve 148 parking spaces, making it the first robotic parking system to be used among airports in China.
